Born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1949. Grandpierre has
been painting since 1969. he came to Canada in 1985. In
1989, he graduated in Visual Arts at the "Ottawa
School of Arts". He obtained the McDonald
Scholarship twice. As a poet, he has published several poems and drawings in periodicals in Hungary and the USA. His works are included in the Anthology of Canadian and Hungarian Writers. He has also published in the North-American Hungarian Authors Quarterly. Grandpierre works in oils, acrylics, pen and ink, and other media. His works carry a distinctive mark of
uniqueness and individual search. His etchings and
monoprints ar much sought-after for thier colours, motifs
and technique. In his endeavour, Grandpierre mainly focuses on visual interpretations of the inner-self in search of a new harmony, a new rhythm, a new freshness to our present-day world which is in dire need of returning to the ancient and simple truth. |
